How to Stay Healthy and Not Gain EXTRA Weight During Pregnancy

The common misconception is since you are expecting a child you should start eating for two or even three people. That is not necessary, your baby needs the food and indulging in extra food can just make you gain extra weight for no good reason. You are expected to gain weight, but how much can you gain depends on your current BMI: if your BMI Is under 20 which is the underweight category you are allowed to gain 28 to 40 lbs. with a BMI of 20-26 you are which is the normal weight you can gain 25 to 35 lbs. if your BMI is 27 to 29, which is the (overweight) category you are allowed to gain only 15 to 20 pounds.

When you gain weight the weight some of the weight is of the baby, the rest is of all the things attached with the baby. The placenta, the blood, the retained water etc. your breasts gain extra weight too. Most women have cravings in their pregnancy time. But this does not mean you stop eating food and start indulging in things you are craving. You should eat your balanced food that you were eating before, just add multivitamins.

Trying to lose weight during pregnancy can be very dangerous. Diets which are low on iron and folic acid, can make you lose the energy which is required to raise your baby. Night time craving is another big issue for pregnant women, a solution to that is having a glass of skim milk before you go to sleep. You can have juices as many as you want, but avoid using mixing three of our fruits together to make a juice. Different fruits have different benefits, and sugar levels. I

f you want to have an apple juice then have an apple juice, but do not mix apple juice with raspberry or any other fruit. Space out your meals have a heavy breakfast, then later in the day have a serving of fruit. For lunch choose salads, juice or milk along with cheese or meat. for dinner have peanut butter sandwich, or put some butter on your toast. Do not starve your self while pregnant, forget about losing weight for the moment, but make sure you do not gain extra weight. Stay happy and look forward to the upcoming BABY!
